Accent Prime
Ultrasound + radiofrequencyHow it works
Accent Prime (Alma Lasers) combines two energy types in one platform. Its ultrasound applicators direct acoustic energy into the fat layer, which the manufacturer describes as selectively targeting fat cells so their contents are released and then processed by the body's normal metabolic pathways. Radiofrequency applicators then heat the dermis and underlying connective tissue in a controlled therapeutic range, which is understood to contract existing collagen and stimulate new collagen production over the weeks that follow. In the US, Alma's Accent platform is FDA-cleared for non-invasive body contouring and for the temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
What it feels like
The ultrasound phase feels like a firm, buzzing pressure, often with an audible high-pitched tone. The radiofrequency phase feels like a warm stone gliding across the skin — deeply warm, and it should not be painful. Your practitioner keeps the applicator moving and monitors skin temperature throughout.
Best for
Localized fat pockets on the abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, and bra line — particularly when mild skin laxity is also a concern.
- Session length
- About 40–60 minutes per area
- Recommended course
- Commonly 6–10 sessions, spaced 1–2 weeks apart, depending on the area and your assessment
- Results timeline
- Some guests notice circumference or texture change partway through a series; collagen remodeling continues for weeks after the final session. Results vary by individual and are not guaranteed.
- Downtime
- Typically none. Mild pinkness and warmth for a few hours is common, and skin can feel slightly tender the next day.
